Plano resident John Sherman, 39, was working at Ream’s Meat Market as the fresh meat department manager when he answered questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Zachary Van Vuren.

Van Vuren: Where did you grow up?

Sherman: I grew up in DeKalb.

Van Vuren: What did you want to be when you grew up?

Sherman: In my teens, I wanted to do what I am doing now.

Van Vuren: Do you have a book or movie recommendation?

Sherman: I’m currently rereading “A River Runs Through It” by Norman Maclean.

Van Vuren: What’s your favorite local restaurant?

Sherman: The pre-made sandwiches at Ream’s.

Van Vuren: What’s your favorite charity?

Sherman: St. Jude

Van Vuren: What is something unique or interesting about yourself?

Sherman: I’m a butcher by day and a musician by night. I’m a singer and a guitar player.

Sherman: Lamb loin
