GENEVA – The Geneva Park District Foundation invites local families to celebrate Geneva’s parks at the annual Autumn Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 16 at Peck Farm Park, 4038 Kaneville Road, Geneva, officials announced in a news release.
Visitors can participate in pony rides, family activities, children’s games, crafts, see a birds of prey exhibit and hear musical entertainment, the release stated.
Patrons also can mingle with animals in a petting zoo and buy pumpkins, the release stated.
Admission is free with minimal fees for some activities, food and beverages, the release stated.
Visitors are encouraged to explore the observation silo, connect with nature at the Hawks Hollow Nature Playground and experience hundreds of butterflies in the Butterfly House, which will close for the season after the event at 3 p.m., the release stated.
Visitors also can participate in a basket raffle. Raffle tickets are $5 each or five for $20 and available for purchase at Peck Farm Park Interpretive Center; Sunset Community Center, 7l0 Western Ave.; and at the Stephen D. Persinger Recreation Center, 3507 Kaneville Road, all in Geneva.
Winners will be announced at the event, the release stated.
“This popular event is a great kickoff to fall, providing an afternoon of affordable entertainment for all ages,” Sheavoun Lambillotte stated in the release.
“It is a fantastic way to enjoy Peck Farm Park and the beautiful fall season.”
Lambillotte is executive director of the Geneva Park District and secretary of the Geneva Park District Foundation.
All proceeds will benefit the special projects of the Geneva Park District Foundation, the release stated.
The Geneva Park District Foundation is a nonprofit organization that secures donations for open space, parks and recreational facilities, the release stated.
Autumn Fair at Peck Farm Park is an annual fundraising event that supports its mission, the release stated.
