The district opened the Bark Park in 2008, and it draws more than 50,000 visitors annually, not including furry companions.
The first 50 people to arrive at the dedication with their pet will receive a free gift from the park district. An agility equipment instructor from DePAW University, Canine Campus will be on hand to lead games and give away prizes.
Also highlighted will be "Bulldogs Unleashed II," a reprise of an art-based fundraising effort for the Batavia Parks Foundation, Batavia Library Foundation and Batavia Foundation for Educational Excellence, which will bring the painted bulldog statues back to town next summer. One of the original litter of statues has long stood guard in the park.
The dedication is sponsored by the Batavia Animal Clinic. For more information about the event or the Bark Park, call 630-879-5235 or visit bataviaparks.org.
