“At the end of the day you want the result, you want to move on and you want to have practice on Monday,” North Stars coach Eric Willson said. “That’s what we have so we’re pretty happy. I thought we were in control of the game, but I thought there were a lot of calls both ways that stopped the flow of the game and made it difficult for both teams to get into a rhythm.”
St. Charles North (13-2-4) wasted little time setting the tone as Willis scored on a header less than two minutes into the action off of Matt Beaulieu’s corner kick.
“I definitely told the whole team multiple times leading up to this game that whoever scored the first goal is going to win,” Willis said.“When we played earlier in the season they scored first and we were kind of deflated because we’re not used to losing.”
