Batavia police reports


• Someone stole two, 65-inch flat-screen TVs valued at $748 each from Walmart, 801 N. Randall Road, Batavia, according to a Jan. 31 report of retail theft.

• A violation of an order of protection was reported Jan. 31 in the 300 block of Chestnut Street, Batavia.

• Harassment by electronic communication was reported Feb. 1 in the 900 block of Orchard Court, Batavia, regarding unwanted messages received Jan. 22.

• Unauthorized transactions that took place Jan. 21 were reported Feb. 1 as fraud in the 400 block of Lathem Street, Batavia.

• Theft was reported Feb. 2 in the 1300 block of South River Street, Batavia.

• Two people fled a store with groceries after trying to use two counterfeit $100 bills, according to a Feb. 3 report of deceptive practices in the 400 block of North Randall Road, Batavia.

• A vehicle drove through someone's front yard and struck a tree in the parkway valued at $200, according to a Feb. 4 report of criminal damage to property in the 1100 block of Ward Road, Batavia. Minor damage to a mailbox also was reported.

• A person has discovered someone opened an unauthorized cable account in Chicago in the name of that Batavia resident of the 1000 block of Lorlyn Circle about a year ago, according to a Feb. 4 report of fraud involving a $2,000 balance.

• A bank alerted a Batavia resident that someone had requested a new credit card on his behalf using his personal information, according to a Feb. 5 report of fraud.

• A person took four books of scratch-off Lotto tickets valued at $600 from a self-serve lottery machine at the BP Amoco in the 200 block of North Randall Road, Batavia, according to a Feb. 5 report of theft. According to the report, video showed an employee going into the safe and removing the key to the lottery machine and temporarily redirecting a surveillance camera. The loss reportedly was discovered during inventory Feb. 4.

• Kevin D. Wesby II, 24, of the 1300 block of East Wilson Street, Batavia, was charged Feb. 6 with domestic battery involving physical contact, according to a police report.

• A package was removed from a mailbox Feb. 1 in the 300 block of Republic Road, Batavia, according to a Feb. 6 report of theft of $500 or less.
