BATAVIA – The riverside Run for Mental Health 5K will begin Oct. 6 in downtown Batavia, presented by the local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness or NAMI.
The run/walk along the Fox River Trail starts at 9 a.m. at the Peg Bond Center at 151 N. Island Ave., a news release announced. Advance registration costs $35, and preregistrants receive a free technical racing shirt. Day-of registration is available for $40. All walkers and runners are welcome. Top finishers will receive trophies and medals. One may register at nami5k.com.
NAMI KDK serves southern Kane County along with DeKalb and Kendall counties as a local resource for people with mental illness, their families and communities. NAMI is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization and is dedicated to the eradication of the stigma of mental illness by improving the quality of life of all those striving for mental health wellness.
