BATAVIA – Batavia police identified a driver killed in a car crash just before 5:30 p.m. April 7 as Scott Meyers, 36, of the 3000 block of South Throop Street, Chicago.

According to a press release, the crash occurred on Kirk Road in the area of the bike path bridge.

A 2011 gray Toyota Rav 4, traveling north and a gray 2005 Chevrolet Equinox, traveling south, were involved in the crash, according to the release.

Meyers, who was driving the Toyota, was found dead at the scene.

A juvenile and male driver of the Equinox were taken by ambulance to area hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Meyers’ vehicle came to rest on its side in the ditch on the east side of the roadway after the crash, according to the release.

A third and fourth vehicle were involved as collateral damage from the initial crash.

A black 2008 Saturn Aura traveling north on Kirk collided with the Equinox after the initial crash.

A beige Hyundai Veracruz incurred minor damage as it drove through the debris of the initial crash.

None of the people in the Hyundai or Saturn were injured.

No citations have been issued at this point in the investigation, the release stated.
