Downers Grove Library to host military speaker on 'Five Sullivan Brothers'

DOWNERS GROVE – "The Five Sullivan Brothers" program will focus on the brothers who were the inspiration for the film "Saving Private Ryan," presented by Hal Burke at 2 p.m. April 14 at the Downers Grove Public Library.

He will cover the legacy of the five Sullivan brothers, from their childhood in Waterloo, Iowa, to early World War II naval history in the Pacific, to the brothers' tragic deaths along with 687 of their shipmates, when their ship was sunk in 1942.

Burke is president of Victor & Valor Memories.
