North Aurora resident Angela Davis, 44, was at the Batavia VFW, where her husband is commander, when she answered questions from the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.
Schory: Where did you grow up?
Davis: Brea, California
Schory: Who would play you in the movie of your life?
Davis: Sandra Bullock
Schory: First job?
Davis: I coached baseball and basketball for the city of Brea over the summer. My favorite was coaching the 5-year-olds. They were just a blast.
Schory: As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Davis: An architect because my dad is a general contractor. The plan was I was going to design and he was going to build. I did not become an architect. But before I became a stay-at-home mom, I was a consultant in IT.
Schory: Favorite charity?
Davis: Batavia VFW and Batavia VFW Auxiliary because I like the focus on the whole veteran, and the whole veteran is their family. If the family is not included, the veteran isn’t necessarily going to feel welcome.
Schory: Favorite ice cream flavor?
Schory: Favorite local restaurant?
Davis: Gillerson’s Grubbery in North Aurora
Schory: What is an interesting fact about yourself?
Davis: I have traveled to Japan, Peru, France, Costa Rica, Australia, Mexico, Italy and Germany.
