Cocoa Bean in Geneva to hit sweet milestone

GENEVA – Celebrating its 15th anniversary, Cocoa Bean Fine Desserts & Bakery announces giveaways every day in July, with special treats July 27, the anniversary of Chef Paul Saucedo opening his doors in Geneva.

It has been a favorite location for cakes, pastries and desserts over the years, helping Geneva become known as one of the suburb’s best food destinations, a news release stated.

The French-inspired bakery sells almost two dozen types of all-natural, preservative-free artisan desserts daily, and specializes in cakes for weddings and other occasions. Patrons stop by for coffee and freshly baked croissants – almond, chocolate or plain – and a variety of other treats. Dessert favorites include the Sophia cake, the gluten-free cheesecake and French macarons.

“This feels like a great milestone for our business,” Saucedo said. “We have enjoyed a great following since we first opened. We’re just happy to say ‘thank you’ to our customers for their loyalty over the years.”

Saucedo is a graduate of Kendall College of Chicago. His culinary career spans more than 30 years at such restaurants and hotels as The Ritz Carlton Hotel in Chicago, Rhapsody Restaurant in Chicago and the Grand Hotel Adolphus in Dallas.
