• A resident of the 46W900 block of Main Street Road, Kaneville reported June 27 that someone had poisoned her gum tree and killed it. She paid $500 to a tree service to remove the tree and they told her someone had drilled holes into the trunk and inserted copper, which killed the tree, reports stated.
• A man reported his cell phone was damaged June 27 during at Northwestern Medicine Field, 34W002 Cherry Lane, Geneva Township, when a woman he’d had a one-night stand with threw his phone down the stairs of the stadium seats. The man told deputies the woman had asked why he blocked her from his social media account, and he replied that he would unblock her. He showed her his phone – then she threw it, reports stated. She said she would pay to repair it. It would cost $250 to repair the cracks in the screen, reports stated.
