A St. Charles organization that serves the homeless recently got a financial bump from a group of business owners.

BNI Active Business Connections made a $1,250 donation July 7 to Lazarus House on behalf of FONA – or Flavors of North America – according to a news release.

The release indicated this was a way for BNI Active Business Connections to publicly thank FONA, which hosts the group’s weekly meetings at its Geneva facility.

According to the release, BNI is a worldwide network referral marketing organization with local chapters.

Active Business Connections is composed of business owners from West Chicago, Bartlett, Batavia, Wheaton, St Charles and Geneva, the release stated. The group meets at 7:30 a.m. Thursdays to build each other’s businesses.

Visitors are welcome. Contact BNI mentor Matthew Waln at drwaln@sbcglobal.net for information.
