FOX RIVER GROVE – The Fox Valley Snowdrifters Ski Club will gather in Geneva on Jan. 20 in advance of attending the Norge Ski Club Jumping event drawing competitors from around the world Jan. 26.

The Jan. 20 meeting will feature a ski jumper from the Norge Ski Club, which is the oldest continually operating ski club in the U.S. He will teach the group about ski jumping and show the equipment they use. There will be a raffle at the meeting to raise money for the Norge Ski Club.

The meeting will start at 7:30 p.m. at the Old Towne Pub and Eatery at 201 W. State St. (Route 38) in downtown Geneva. The board will meet at 6 p.m.

From noon to 4 p.m. Jan. 26, members will attend the Norge Ski Club Jumping event where there will be ski jumpers from around the globe competing on a 70-meter hill at 100 Ski Hill Road in Fox River Grove.

The first Snowdrifters ski trip of the season has been planned for January to Whitefish Ski Area in Montana.
