BATAVIA – The Batavia Chamber of Commerce has launched Batavia Chamber Bucks, which are gift certificates in $10 denomiations that can be used like cash at participating businesses.
“Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Batavia Chamber of Commerce was setting the wheels in motion to revive Batavia Chamber Bucks,” stated Margaret Perreault, president and CEO of Batavia Chamber of Commerce, in a news release. “It is even more critical now to help our exceptional local businesses. This is a fantastic gift idea for people to utilize not only as a thoughtful present but also to revitalize our town and keep our money local.”
Customers write in the business name on the line provided on the certificate and apply it toward a purchase. Businesses will drop by the chamber office with the redeemed Chamber Bucks and the chamber will reimburse the business.
The chamber is compiling a list of Batavia businesses that will accept the Chamber Bucks, which you receive when you purchase them. Participating merchants will also be listed and updated regularly on website, bataviachamber.org.
You can purchase Batavia Chamber Bucks by calling the Chamber at 630-879-7134. They will be mailed to you. Or, when the shelter in place directive is lifted, stop by the Chamber office at 106 W. Wilson Street, Ste. 15.
Batavia businesses or Batavia chamber member businesses in other towns that want to participate in the program can call 630-879-7134 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. There is no cost to the business to participate.
The cost of the program is 100% funded by the Batavia Chamber to support local business, the news release stated.
