KANE COUNTY – Illinois public health officials on Friday again reported 31 new cases of COVID-19 in Kane County and 2 additional deaths. No additional information was provided about the deaths. There were also 31 new cases reported on Thursday and 30 reported on Wednesday.

Kane County now has 7,796 cases of the virus, with 274 deaths, according to the IDPH website. As of Friday, 62,882 people have been tested, making the county's positivity rate 12%.

State health officials reported 868 additional cases and 18 deaths statewide on Friday, for a total of 145,750 cases, including 7,005 deaths. Within the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 34,318 specimens. The state's rolling positivity rate remained at 2.6% on Friday.
